Luke Yeoward – Marigold Avenue

Melbourne-via-New-Zealand musician Luke Yeoward first made his name with the rock band King Cannons a decade ago, but has since released several albums in the reggae realm which is closest to his musical heart. His latest, Marigold Avenue, has been described by Melbourne 3PBS DJ and tastemaker Mohair Slim as “my favourite Australian LP ever of any genre”. Even Luke blushed and dismissed such heavy-handed praise, but it says something for the quality of this release. It features a remix by Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry himself, backing vocals by Tippa C and Blacker Lee and a rich, warm sound that comes from another era.
