Khaled Kurbeh – Ithā Sajā (إذا سجى)

Welcoming back Syrian pianist Khaled Kurbeh, marking his second release with Research Records, Ithā Sajā (إذا سجى), a collection of nine piano pieces. wal-Leil (واللّيلْ) [by the night] opens the album. A hauntingly beautiful piece that grew from conversations with friends Hend Alkahwaji and Wejdan Nassif during theatre rehearsals, setting the tone for an intimate collection of works to follow.
