The album includes guest appearances from the likes of Flea and Hillel Slovak (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and  Norwood Fisher (Fishbone), and also includes Levene contributing lead vocals on a cover of John Lennon’s ‘Cold Turkey’ and the reggae classic ‘Double Barrel’.

Keith Levene was the original guitarist of the groundbreaking post-punk band, Public Image Limited; who’s abrasive, yet beautiful, noise-classical, metal sound struck an massive chord with generations of guitarists from The Edge, to Steve Albini. After a less than amicable departure from PIL in late 83, Levene spent a few years in the wilderness before recording his debut album Violent Opposition in 1989. A lot of the music from Violent Opposition is was what you expect from Levene. A cocktail of industrial, noise-rock, funk, with an recipe of reggae thrown into the pot, with some fascinating covers of Hendrix, and so forth. Levene has often been labelled “The Post-Punk Jimi Hendrix”, which is an fascinating, and to me a very accurate description of his stellar guitar work
