Yo La Tengo – Fade

The trio’s 13th (!) album remains my favourite of their rich catalogue. Chiefly, it’s because, in the darkest times, the fluid grooves and gentle romanticism hint at just enough optimism to lift the gloom. To balance that the scalpel-sharp lyrics of ‘Ohm’ will never not be on point (plus they make me smile):
