COMETS – Anywhere Here (Coloured Vinyl)

The second album from this Melbourne/Peninsula instrumental psych-rock band, and what a goshdarn monster it is!! Following on from their 2021 debut, Rain Faces, Anywhere Here is a mindbending progression. Featuring lots of fuzzed guitars, metronomic, Krauty rhythms, flute, sax, synths (c/o Mikey Young, natch) and even a guest vocal performance from Koral Chandler and The Peep Tempel’s Blake Scott, it’s a truly righteous mix of Afro beats (check out the opener, “Lost Car”) and lysergic psychedelia.
